Dr. Özgür Karatekin is a senior research scientist at ORB. He received his B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering, from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, 1993, and a Ph.D in Applied Sciences from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and the von Karman Institute for fluid dynamics (VKI), Belgium Brussels in 2001. Since 2001 he has been working at ORB on planetary sciences. He takes active part in several space missions including ESA’s MEx, (MaRS science team), ExoMars (NOMAD (co-I), AMELIA (co-PI), DREAMS (co-I)) and ESA/NASA’s Cassini/Huygens (Participating Scientist). His main scientific expertise lies in the Entry decent landing and thermal and atmospheric evolution.

He is responsible for the scientific validation of the deliverables, for the temporal execution of the tasks and for the elaboration of progress and final reports.

Bart Van Hove is a PhD candidate in the Royal Observatory of Belgium. His experience on Mars is focused in processes and interpretation of measurements made during atmospheric entry. Currently he is practicing on MSL, the last NASA mission, in preparation for ExoMars.
 

He will analyze the atmospheric entry data from ExoMars, the next European mission to Mars.

Elodie Gloesener Elodie Gloesener
PhD Student at Royal Observatory of Belgium (ORB)

Elodie Gloesener is a PhD student at the Royal Observatory of Belgium. She is studying the interactions between the atmosphere and the subsurface of Mars. She is contributing to create a subsurface model of diffusion of gases such as methane or water vapor.
 
She will also study the stability of the methane clathrates.
